Introducing our new Wellness Director

HealthWorks is thrilled to introduce Maggie Gough, who has joined the HealthWorks team as Wellness Director. In her new role, Maggie brings her creativity and experience to help our clients build and administer wellness programming solutions.

Maggie graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2005, with a BS in Dietetics and is a Registered Dietitian. She began her career as a Corporate Dietitian with the Kroger Company, where she was instrumental in building an enterprise-wide, consumer-facing health and wellness platform. She then expanded her career by becoming the Student Wellness Manager at Northern Kentucky University (NKU), creating and developing an innovative program including peer education, policy, and research. In 2011, she was promoted to the Assistant Director of Wellness for NKU, which has won the title of “Healthiest Employer in Greater Cincinnati” for the past three years.

Maggie’s wellness priorities have always been culture and engagement, with routine research to evaluate the effectiveness of the program and initiatives within it. Her extensive background in the industry, and her health and nutrition credentials, make her a valuable asset to the HealthWorks team and to our clients. Plus, we love the way she views wellness:

  1. “Tracking your health isn’t the same as being healthy.”
  2. “Wellness programs have to be designed for real people.”
  3. “Promise big; deliver big.”
  4. “The grass is always greener where you water it.”
  5. “Wellness plans without a strategy become white noise for your employees.”

Maggie is a Cincinnati native, and currently lives in Covedale with her husband, two daughters, and dog, Lucy. She finds her creative outlet in cooking healthy foods for her family and enjoys hiking and camping as a hobby.
