Staff Bios

Denise Flickner, President

Denise is the founder and sole owner of HealthWorks, which she launched in 1997.  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics in 1987 from the University of Cincinnati, and has been working in the Health & Wellness industry ever since.  She is an AFTA certified personal trainer and has been a local fitness instructor (aerobics, strength, and spinning classes) since 1988.  It was as a fitness instructor in the late 1980s that she made the connection between personal responsibility and organizational health initiatives and has grown HealthWorks into a full-service, on-site wellness partner for her clients.  She believes that in order to encourage positive lifestyle changes in others you have to be passionate about it and live it every day.  Denise currently lives in Mariemont, Ohio.  Contact her at denise@cincyhealthworks.com

  • Biggest Fitness Accomplishment:  Training injury-free for the Flying Pig Half Marathon

Marlene Diers, Director of Operations

Marlene joined HealthWorks as the Director of Operations in January 2011. She has been working in the worksite wellness industry for 9 years as a Certified Health Education Specialist. Marlene earned her B.S. in Health from Ohio University in 2002, and her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Teacher Leadership from Miami University in 2009. Marlene spent three years living and working in Chicago and moved back to Cincinnati in 2006 with her Weimaraner dog, Maddy. Anne-Marie Farley, Account Services

Anne-Marie joined HealthWorks in 2006.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Management in 1986 from the University of Dayton.  She spent over a decade in the public relations industry working for PR agencies in Chicago and freelancing in Scottsdale, AZ, and Madison, WI, before taking some time off to raise her children.  Her clients included Kraft Foods, Ralston Purina, Keebler Company and Oscar Mayer Foods. She has had a life-long passion for fitness and is an AFTA certified personal trainer.  She currently lives in Cincinnati with her three boys and believes that the best time to start getting healthy is NOW! Denita Shedden, Phlebotomy Supervisor

Denita earned her AMA Certification in 1992 and has been with HealthWorks since 1998.  She supervises blood draws as part of the HealthWorks on-site health screens for local and out-of-state clients.  She has lived in Cincinnati her entire life and enjoys supporting her hometown teams, the Bengals and Cincinnati Reds.

Diane Orzali, RN

Diane Orzali is a Registerd Nurse and has worked for HealthWorks since 1997.  She received her BSN from Kent State University in 1983.  She has worked in hospitals in Cleveland, OH; Marblehead and Salem, MA.  In addition to working health screens and administering flu shots for HealthWorks, Diane is also employed at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center, located in Cincinnati, OH.  She has been interested in exercise, healthy eating habits and balancing her lifestyle her entire life (and continues to be inspired by her 83-year-old parents still who walk on their treadmill daily).  Diane is an avid runner and has coached groups at Bob Roncker’s Running Spot in Cincinnati.  She has 3 children and a very active husband who enjoys doing triathlons.

  • Biggest Fitness Accomplishment: Running the 1994 Boston marathon after her 3rd child was born
  • Current Fitness Goal: Keeping up with 3 kids in 3 different schools
  • Biggest Indulgence: Ice cream or ANYTHING with chocolate and peanut butter combined (like Buckeye Blitz!)
